Kaleidoscope Creative Arts Centre - Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How much does it cost?
A. £42 per term.   The fee allows you to attend as many groups at the centre as you would like to.   Each term usually consists of 10 weeks, with a break for half-term - that works out at less than £5 per week!   In addition, so that you can find out whether the centre is for you, you can come along for free for up to a term...

Q. What groups are there and which group will I be most suited to?
A. Full details of the groups are available on the Groups page. As for which group, it depends on your ability and what style of music you want to play. If you are unsure, then ask and we'll be able to help.

Q. I haven't played for years, surely I'll be out of my depth?
A. Many of the members of Kaleidoscope felt the same way but it's like riding a bike, once learned you never forget. It may take a bit of time to get used to it again but you will.

Q. I'd like to play something but I don't even know what instrument I want to play.
A. Get in contact. We have lots of experience and can make some positive suggestions.

Q. I probably can't get there every week. Does that matter?
A. Well it is obviously better for you if you can but it doesn't preclude you if you can't.

Q. What do I need to bring with me?
A. Just you and an instrument (or two)!

Q. I don't have an instrument, can I borrow one?
A. Although we simply can't provide instruments as a matter of course, we may well be able to source one for you (as long as you don't want a grand piano or a pair of kettle drums!)

Q. I don't have to play on my own do I?
A. Absolutely not. There is no pressure to do solos whatsoever. There aren't even any auditions.
